Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Meade County native Rick Stansbury is returning to the Bluegrass State to take over the men's basketball program at Western Kentucky.

Stansbury replaces head coach Ray Harper, who announced his resignation following a March 17th disciplinary hearing and suspension of three of WKU basketball players.

Stansbury was head coach at Mississippi State from 1998 until 2012, where he complied a record of 293-166, leading the Bulldogs to six NCAA appearances. He has been an assistant at Texas A&M for the past two seasons.
