LEXINGTON, Ind. (WDRB)  -- Investigators say two people found dead in a mobile home in Scott County Monday night were murdered.

According to the Scott County Sheriff's Office, deputies found Michele Brewer, 45, and Jesse "Willy" Bowling, 51, shot to death inside Brewer's home on State Road 356 in Lexington, Indiana around 8:30 p.m.

"Why'd you do it? Why are you a coward?" asked Brewer's sister, Teresa Brewer. "She'd help anybody. Anybody that needed anything. She'd let them stay at her house. If she had a dime to offer them... she'd just give it to them."

"They literally left her there. They didn't even call. You literally let family members walk in and see that. That is, it's disgusting," said Brewer's niece, Rochelle Copeland.

"I think they should put themselves in our shoes. You know, if that would happen to them, how would they feel?" said Brewer's daughter, Shila Bowling.

Brewer was a mother of three. Her family says Bowling was staying with her because the two were friends and he had nowhere else to go.

"When she would leave, he'd help with the yard, do yard work, mow, feed the dogs,"  Shila said. "He said he would die for her, and he did."

Detectives were back on the scene throughout the day Tuesday looking for clues in the case.

"We have conducted roughly half a dozen interviews," said Scott County Sheriff Dan McClain. "We have some fairly good leads that we are following through."

While he would not discuss a motive, McClain says Brewer and Bowling were shot multiple times.

No arrests have been made.
