Mother accused of leaving 4-month-old child alone inside Jeffersontown hotel room
Police initially responded to the scene and found the suspect "wandering halls with small infant, almost dropping infant," according to an arrest report.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Jeffersontown Police arrested a woman officials say left her 4-month-old child alone inside a hotel room.
According to police records, Angela Austin, 22, was arrested early Tuesday morning at the Quality Inn located at 1301 Kentucky Mills Drive, not far from Blankenbaker Parkway.
Police initially responded to the scene and found Austin "wandering halls with [a] small infant, almost dropping [the] infant." Officers helped Austin and her child get into a room safely for the night.
Police then went to the hotel on a second call. Upon arriving at the scene, police allegedly found Austin out in the parking lot without her child.
Police say they then went inside the Quality Inn and found Austin's child inside a hotel room unattended and crying. Police say the room was open and unsecured.
The police report says Austin admitted she had been drinking.
Austin was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a minor, wanton endangerment and abandoning a minor.
She is being held at Metro Corrections without bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
