LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A former Metro Corrections officer convicted of having sex with an inmate was released from jail on the same day he was sentenced.

Jonathon Aikin pleaded guilty to sodomy and official misconduct earlier this year. Today, he was sentenced to one year in prison. But due to time served, he was immediately released.

Last year, police say Aikin forced an inmate to have sex with him in a Metro Corrections bathroom.

According to the arrest report, the victim told police Aikin "entered the bathroom where she was the only occupant and forced her to perform oral sex on him."

Police say Aikin told them in a taped statement that the sex was consensual.
