Two juveniles face charges for making up abduction story

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- La Grange police say they have charged two juveniles for making up an elaborate abduction story that investigators say they later discovered never happened.

Police say two girls called the department on March 2, saying two men forced them into a van.

Officers say the girls claimed they escaped and ran home when the men stopped at a store and left the girls alone in the car.

After hours of looking into the alleged abduction and reviewing the store's surveillance video, that did not match the girls' story, officials say the girls admitted they had made it up.

The case has been turned over to Oldham Juvenile District Court.

The two girls have been charged with falsely reporting an incident.
