LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man is under arrest after police say he was involved in a road rage incident that left another man with serious injuries.
According to an arrest warrant, the incident took place on March 17. Police say 19-year-old Delmario Pinchbeck and another driver were involved in a car accident on I-65 at the I-264 ramp.
Police say both men got out of their vehicle. According to the arrest warrant, Pinchbeck walked up to the other driver and, without speaking, began to punch the man in the face.
The victim fell to the ground, hitting his head on the concrete, but police say Pinchbeck kept punching him the face.
A bystander eventually intervened and stopped Pinchbeck. Police say that witness called police, and stood in front of Pinchbeck's car to keep him from leaving.
The victim was eventually taken to Audubon Hospital, but was transported to University Hospital because it was determined that his injuries were more serious than initially thought. According to the arrest report, he had to have surgery to his face to fix broken bones, and will require more treatments.
A warrant was issued for Pinchbeck's arrest on Tuesday, March 22. He was arrested on Wednesday and charged with first degree assault.
