Top three finalists name for "American Idol's" final season
The two contestants judges seemed to like the most before next week's finale.
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Just one more week before the final "American Idol" is crowned.
Trent Harmon, La'Porsha Renae and Dalton Rapattoni are the top three finalists that will be singing again next week. MacKenzie Bourg doesn't make the cut Thursday night. If the judges' reaction is any indication, it will be a contest between two Mississippians, Trent and La'Porsha.
Dalton's performances didn't rise to the level of the other two. Next week's Idol series finale will be spread over two nights, with the Season 15 winner named next Thursday. Former Idol winners Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood are also scheduled to perform.
"American Idol" is also pulling the plug on its summer tour. Billboard reports Idol's parent company will not have the Season 15 finalists hit the road as in years past. The live tour has been a summer staple since the first show launched in 2002. But ticket sales have been declining in recent years, along with Idol's ratings.
