LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) – Jamal Murray announced Friday he is leaving Kentucky for the 2016 NBA Draft.
Murray said he has not hired an agent but says he will "most likely" remain in the draft and not return to the Wildcats for his sophomore season.
In his only season with UK, Murray averaged 20 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists and hit 40.8 percent of his three pointers.
Murray becomes the 17th player in the John Calipari era at UK to be a one and done. He can become the 26th UK player to be drafted since Calipari took over in 2009.
Murray is the first player from this year's team to officially announce his NBA plans. Sophomore Tyler Ulis and Freshman Skal Labissiere are the two most serious candidates on the team to leave school early for the NBA Draft.
