LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- High winds are causing a lot of problems around Kentuckiana on Saturday.

Power lines were blown over onto I-265 at Billtown Road just before 5 p.m., causing all lanes of the interstate to close in both directions.

MetroSafe says it re-opened around 10:45 p.m. Saturday.

Wind advisories and high wind warnings are in effect for all of the WDRB viewing area. Wind gusts were expected over 50 miles per hour through the night.

At its peak, LG&E reported more than 6,500 customers without power in Jefferson County.
