Louisville woman used daughter to shoplift items from Kroger store
Officials say a store employee said Kositz allegedly hid items and then used her daughter to "remove most of the merchandise from the store."
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police have arrested a Louisville woman authorities say used her juvenile daughter to shoplift items from a Kroger store.
Amanda Kositz, 29, was arrested Monday at the Kroger store located at 5001 Mud Lane.
Officials say a store employee said Kositz allegedly hid items and then used her daughter to "remove most of the merchandise from the store." According to the official police report, other items were removed by Kositz.
Police say Kositz's daughter was detained first and a store employee then tried to detain Kositz. Investigators say Kositz initially would not cooperate and only did so after finding out her daughter had been detained.
Authorities say Kositz tried to leave the store after she made contact with her daughter. A store employee blocked the pair from leaving until police arrived.
Police say the value of the items taken totaled $161.78. All of the items were recovered.
Kositz is charged with theft by unlawful taking.
