Mother files lawsuit against JCPS claiming child was inappropriately touched

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A mother has filed a lawsuit against Jefferson County Public Schools, claiming a grown man touched her child in a school restroom.

The mother says the staff at Tully Elementary School called a person on an emergency contact list when her child needed new clothing. The suit says the staff mistook the man as the boy's father and allowed him into the restroom to clean up the student.

The mother claims she arrived at the school and found the man touching the boy's genitals.

Court records say the incident happened last year but the mother just filed suit this month.

JCPS has not yet responded.

The mother's asking for financial damages.
