Homicide detectives investigating after woman's body found in alley in Russell neighborhood
Homicide detectives are investigating after the unclothed body of a woman was found in west Louisville.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Homicide detectives are investigating after the unclothed body of a woman was found in west Louisville.
Curtis Hobbs, a resident in the area, said he is sick and tired of seeing police cars, detectives and caution tape in his neighborhood.
"I just got a call from my sister-in-law and she said they found another body in yall's neighborhood," Hobbs explained.
Police were called to the area near 31st Street and River Park Drive after the body was found dead and naked in an alley Thursday morning.
Louisville Metro Police spokesman Dwight Mitchell confirms the body was found by a passerby shortly after 9:30 a.m. Mitchell says the victim is a white woman in her 20s or 30s, and could have been there for several hours before being found.
According to Mitchell, there were no obvious signs of trauma to the body. An autopsy has been scheduled.
Meanwhile, nearby residents like Hobbs are on high-alert.
"I tell them everyday to be careful. Just be safe, be careful. Just remember where you are at and come in at a respectable time because you never know. Mistaken identity can catch anybody," Hobbs said.
