Louisville Mayor introduces 'Young Father's Summit'

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer has introduced a program designed to support young fathers and encourage them to play an active role in their child's life.

The summit will be called "Doing What's Right."

The program will give fathers information on parenting from other fathers as well as information to help find jobs.

Mayor Fischer says strong fathers will make Louisville a stronger city.

"If we have a city of all strong fathers, that means we have a city of strong kids, and that's something that's very, very bright for our future," Fischer said.

Young fathers aged 16 to 24 are invited to attend the event on April 16 at the Muhammad Ali Center.
