GE fires back after Bernie Sanders accuses company of being greedy and selfish

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders has accused GE of being greedy and selfish. Now the company is firing back.

Sanders says GE is destroying the moral fabric of the country by shutting down American factories, shipping jobs to China and Mexico, and minimizing its tax bill.

But GE CEO Jeff Immelt says, "GE has been in business for 124 years, and we've never been a big hit with socialists."

He says GE has 125,000 employees in the U.S., including about 6,000 at Appliance Park in Louisville.
