LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The man accused of fatally stabbing another man in west Louisville is expected in court on Monday.

Mario Reed, 53, is charged with one count of murder. Police say Reed got into a fight with Byron Knott on March 24 in front of Reed's home on Garland Avenue.

After the fight, police say Reed retrieved a bat from his house and tried to hit Knott with it, but Knott wrestled it away from him. That's when police say Reed got a knife and stabbed Knott.

Knott later died at University Hospital.

Reed is expected to be arraigned on Monday and is being held at Louisville Metro Corrections without bond.
