Bill could allow school students to use medical marijuana

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A bill that would allow school students to use medical marijuana has cleared a major hurdle in Colorado.

The legislation would require schools to allow nurses or caregivers to give medical marijuana to students.

Schools would still need parents to sign off on the treatments, and the drug would have to be given in a non-smokeable dose.

A Colorado state committee approved the bill, which now moves to the state house.
