LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The former Bullitt County Animal Shelter director is suing, claiming he was wrongfully terminated after a video surfaced, showing him using a racial slur about the county's jailer.

Bullitt County magistrates fired Animal Control Officer and Shelter Director Jimmy Miller in May after the video surfaced. It recorded the following statements from Miller:

MILLER: "I thought I've seen [EXPLETIVE] Knox's car up Mt. Washington riding around with no sign on it."

EMPLOYEE: "Really?"

MILLER: "Yep, pretty sure it was her."

Magistrates say Miller's comments violated Fiscal Court policies and the employee handbook.

Miller's attorneys filed the federal lawsuit against Bullitt Fiscal Court and the woman who secretly recorded the video in the shelter. They say he was wrongfully terminated and suffered emotional distress.
