LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) – After jumping out to a 3-nothing lead in the second, the Louisville Bats gave up 9 straight runs losing their second straight to Toledo 9-3 Friday evening at Slugger Field.
DH Jermaine Curtis went 2-2 in a losing effort, driving in two runs. It was his two run double in the second that gave Louisville the early lead. Second basemen Carlos Triunfel added the extra run, with a double later that inning to score in Curtis. It was the last time Louisville would score.
After tying the game in the fifth, the Mud Hens would explode for four runs in the sixth. Hens Catcher Miguel Gonzalez led the offensive attack for Toledo, going 2-2 with a homer run.
Righty Ryan Mattheus picked up the loss for the Bats, dropping to 1-1 on the season.
