LOUISVILLE, Ky (WDRB) -- GonzoFest takes over the Waterfront.

GonzoFest Louisville was held on the Big Four Lawn under the Big Four Bridge on Saturday.

The literary and music festival celebrates the life, work and legacy of Hunter S. Thompson.

The Louisville native was a well-known journalist and is famous for creating "Gonzo-Journalism".

Saturday's event included poetry, spoken word, art and live music.

It brought in visitors from around the area.

"We've never been here before, we heard about it 6 days before. I'm a big fan of Hunter Thompson Myself. So we all just decided we were gonna come down here. We're from Knoxville, TN. We just decided we were going to take a little trip today. And we've been enjoying it," said a group of attendees.

This is the sixth year for GonzoFest Louisville.
