'Give A Day' Week of Service underway in Louisville

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A week of service is underway in Louisville.

This is the fifth year for the "Give A Day" Week of Service, which helps kick off the Kentucky Derby Festival.

The goal is to break Louisville's own "world record" from last year, when more than 165,000 volunteers performed acts of compassion.

In addition to volunteering, people can still donate bicycles for the "Pedal Power Project" at Beargrass Christian Church or drop off cans of food in Dare to Care bins in local Kroger stores.
