'State of the Air' report ranks Louisville as 10th most-polluted city

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville is the 10th most-polluted city when it comes to year-round particle levels.

That's according to the American Lung Association's 2016 "State of the Air" report. The report found that more than half of Americans live with unhealthy levels of air pollution.

Researchers note that there has been some improvement in Louisville's air quality, but residents are still at risk for many health problems caused by unhealthy air.

Year-round particle pollution can cause problems including asthma attacks and lung cancer.
