LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Miami man must spend nearly five years in jail and pay back more than $1 million after police say he stole from a Kentucky warehouse.

Prosecutors say Ivan Romero, 42, admitted to stealing from the Coremark Cigarette Warehouse in Leitchfield, Ky. in March 2011.

Romero says he broke into the building through the roof, turned off the alarm system, and helped load the products into a stolen tractor trailer.

The stolen cigarettes were then taken to the New Jersey-New York area.

Romero was sentenced to 57 months in prison for conspiracy and theft charges this week. He also must pay restitution of $1,486,164.45.
