JEFFERSONVILLE, In. (WDRB) – Leaders are still searching for answers when it comes to where to park buses for Greater Clark County Schools.

Greater Clark County schools says it's outgrown it's current location It wants the Clark County Auto Auction site on 10th street and is prepared to pay more than $3 million to do so. However, several Jeffersonville leaders say they don’t want it.

“I've got my police department saying it will be a traffic nightmare,” said Jeffersonville Mayor Mike Moore, “10th street is a business district.”

GCCS wants to move to the Clark County Auto Auction site on 10th street.

“We thought we were benefiting,” said Dr. Andrew Melin. “We thought the people who own Clark County Auto Auction were benefiting and we thought our city was benefiting.”

“They seem to have trouble understanding that it's not wanted there,” said Mayor Moore.

On Monday, Jeffersonville City Council denied a request to change the zoning of the site. Moore says because of that, that location is now off the table.

Now, Melin says all options are back on the table.

“It was never our intent to enter into any kind of controversial situation,” Dr. Melin said. “We saw an opportunity.”

Whether or not GCCS and the city continue to disagree over this site, remains to be seen.

“I'm hopeful they begin to understand this project is not wanted in the city of Jeff or it's residents,” Moore said.

“When there are disagreements, they should be private and not made public,” Dr. Melin said. “It's regrettable, it's unfortunate.”
