LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Friday is moving day for U of L students, and they're taking part in Earth day by donating, not trashing unwanted things.

The university partnered with Goodwill as part of its spring move-out.

Students can donate unwanted clothes and items from their dorms and shop from the same piles.

The donations stay local and help people with a tough time finding work get jobs through Goodwill.

Goodwill says it usually collects more than 11,000 pounds of clothing and other household goods from students moving out of the dorms for the summer.
