U of L senior pitcher Kyle Funkhouser sets school record after Sunday's win vs. Boston College
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – Louisville Cardinal senior pitcher Kyle Funkhouser is the first 30-game winner in school history.
Funkhouser (4-3) went six innings against Boston College Sunday, giving up four hits, two earned runs and two walks while striking out four in U of L’s 6-2 win in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts.
Will Smith was 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI in the victory. The Cardinals run their record to 31-9 (14-7 in ACC).
Louisville returns to Jim Patterson Stadium for a five-game homestand starting Wednesday with an outing against Florida International.
