LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Lots of sun and sand for this weekend's Derby Festival Volleyball Classic.

It was the 28th year for the tournament.

Mens, womens and co-ed doubles competed both Saturday and Sunday.

More than 200 teams signed up to play at Baxter Jacks including IU Southeast Volleyball Coach, Eric Brian.

"It's just a great chance to always be involved in the game because there's always two people whereas other team sports there's a lot less touches on the ball so sand volleyball your'e always touching the ball. It's a great way to get exercise and  be outside," Brian said.

The KDF Volleyball Classic brought in top teams from Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio and Missouri.
