LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Low-income families may have new options to afford Internet plans.

AT&T announced it plans to provide a new discounted Internet plan for as low as $5 a month. Anyone who receives food stamps will qualify.

Internet connection speeds of 3 megabits a second are $5 a month, while faster speeds will be $10 a month.

Installation and equipment fees will also be waived.

The program is set to be available until 2020.
