LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Oldham County Schools' new superintendent made his first official appearance Monday since being named to the position.

Greg Schultz was introduced at the monthly school board meeting. He was named to the position just last week.

The district says Schultz has 25 years worth of experience and started his career at Oldham County High School.

Schultz says he's ready for the job.

"I'm just elated that I have the chance to lead a great school district. Thrilled to be here. Thrilled to get started. It's still a couple months away, but already starting to review paper work and review plans to make sure I hit the ground running."

Schultz will take over as superintendent on July 1.

Until then, Rick McHargue will remain the interim superintendent.
