UPDATE: Two people found dead in a Charlestown apartment complex

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- We're learning more about how police discovered two bodies inside a Charlestown, Ind., apartment Wednesday.

Police tell WDRB they were called to the Brysonwood Apartments on a welfare check around 3:45 p.m.

That's located on McCampbell Street near Main Street in Charlestown.

"It's still too early to tell which way it's going to go," said Charlestown Police Chief Keith McDonald. "Right now detectives are piecing all of this together and getting together all the leads and facts and hopefully we can figure out what happened."

Once inside the apartment, Charlestown police found the bodies of two people. According to police, "both appear to be female."

"Right now we do not have any information to point towards anyone else being in danger, so right now it's just isolated to this one apartment," McDonald said.

Police are only calling it a death investigation. They say it's not clear if the two died from some sort of accident or if it was foul play.

Officers with the Charlestown Police Department as well and Indiana State Police were on the scene.
