Federal Reserve won't raise key interest rate

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Federal Reserve will not be raising its key interest rate.

The Federal Reserve said the economy has slowed, despite gains in the job market, in a statement released Wednesday.

The chair of the Federal Reserve says the Central Bank will move cautiously this year.

It hasn't raised the interest rate since December of 2015.

That was the first time the Federal Reserve raised the rate in almost a decade.
