LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) – First the Louisville Cardinals beat the storms. Then they went out and beat Florida International.
With inclement weather on the horizon for the evening, Louisville moved up the start of its game twice before shutting out the Panthers 7-0 Wednesday at Jim Patterson Stadium.
Sophomore righthander Kade McClure pitched seven shutout innings. He matched a career high with seven strike outs, allowing only four hits. He is now a perfect 8 and 0 this season.
Nick Solak played for the first time since injuring his hand against Virginia on March 25th. The junior showed no signs of rust as he hit a double and drove in a run.
The Cardinals have won two straight. Louisville returns to action Friday for the start of a three game series against St. John’s at Jim Patterson Stadium.
