UPDATE: Police identify bodies of women found in Charlestown apartment

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police have identified the bodies of two women found inside a Charlestown, Indiana apartment last night.

Those women have been identified as 56-year-old Susan M. Crider and 51-year-old Debbie M. Brandenburg.

Police were asked to perform a welfare check yesterday at an apartment complex near Main Street. Officers found two women dead.

According to a news release, investigators found no obvious signs of injury, trauma or health defects -- and police will have to rely on the results of a toxicology report, which could take 4-6 weeks, to determine causes of death.

"As of now, this investigation is isolated to the apartment room," Chief Keith McDonald wrote in a news release. "The investigation has not revealed any information to lead us to believe that there are suspect or suspects at large, and [we] don't believe the public is in danger as a result of these two deaths."
