LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Jefferson County Coroner's Office has identified a man who died in a motorcycle crash on I-65 Thursday night.
According to Jefferson County Coroner Barbara Weakley-Jones, 68-year-old Clifford V. Raeihle from La Grange died from blunt force injuries.
The accident happened around 9:30 p.m. near Hospital Curve in the northbound lanes of Interstate 65 at the Broadway exit. Officials say a Jeep tried to merge into the fast lane and rear-ended the motorcycle. Raeihle was riding. He was thrown from the bike and died at the scene.
The driver of the Jeep was taken to the hospital.
"The driver of the Jeep had very minor injuries despite the fact that his vehicle did overturn several times," said Louisville Metro Police spokeswoman Alicia Smiley.
Police are still trying to figure out whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
