LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Kentucky Derby Festival's PNC Tour de Lou cycling event is taking bicyclists around Louisville.

The event kicked off Sunday morning at Waterfront Park.

There are three different levels for participants:

- 62.1 Mile Advanced Ride / Metric Century
35 Mile Experienced Ride / More advanced
20 Mile Intermediate Ride / New to cycling

The Metric Century ride is new to the event this year.

The course is open, which means cyclists will ride along with drivers.

Organizers say the ride is designed to take cyclists on a scenic ride through Louisville's scenic parks. Riders will travel through Shawnee, Chickasaw, Wayside, Iroquois and Cherokee Parks.

The finish line for all races is in Waterfront Park.
