LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A special brunch kicks off Derby week.

Mayor Greg Fischer and nearly 400 people spent the day at Riverside, The Farnsley-Moremen Landing, for the Mayor's annual Derby Brunch on Sunday.

Organizers say the event is a great way to get in the derby spirit in a slow-paced setting.

In addition to a traditional Kentucky breakfast, there was live jazz music, a silent auction, and a tour of the house and chapel property.

"We hope they get a feel for what this place is about. This is a historic park with a historic house/museum. We do lot's of educational programs and family and community festival events and the support that we get from this event helps us make a lot of that happen," said organizer Patti Linn.

This was the 13th year for the brunch.
