Derby longshot Danzing Candy hits Churchill Downs track for first time

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- One of the longshots for Derby 142 was on the Churchill Downs track for the first time Tuesday morning.

Danzing Candy shipped in from California Monday and got his first taste of the track.

It is the first Derby entry for trainer Cliff Sise Junior. The 64-year-old is taking a low-key approach to his first Run for the Roses.

Sise says if the track conditions are good for Saturday's race, it could favor his speedy hopeful.
