LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It's a new place to spend time outside in Clarksville.

On Tuesday, the city's new Gateway Park opened to the public.

Construction on the nearly four acre park on Little League Boulevard began last year. It features an adventure playground, splash pad, covered stage area and grassy event lawn.

"Again we wanted a gathering place. There is no place where people can come to gather and do festivals and concerts or even outdoor movies so we wanted to do that here in a unique way," said Brian Kaluzny, Superintendent of Parks.

A new outdoor movie and concert series will be held at Gateway Park in addition to Clarksville Community Schools' Art Fest and ClarkFEST.
