LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say they've arrested a man who robbed a woman in front of her 3-year-old daughter.

According to an arrest report, it happened on Tuesday, May 3, just after 9 a.m.

Police say the woman and her 3-year-old daughter had just left a convenience store at the corner of E. Oak Street and S. Preston Street, when 49-year-old Ernest Woodard walked up behind her, grabbed her around the neck, pulled a pocketknife and said, "give me your money."

He then took her money and fled, running south down S. Preston Street, according to the arrest report.

Police say a witness later told them that Woodard had been seen standing at the corner of S. Preston Street and E. Ormsby Avenue in a grey shirt. Police eventually found him at that location.

The victim allegedly identified Woodard as the one who robbed her.

He was arrested and charged with first degree robbery.
