LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The 2016 Woodford Reserve $1000 Mint Julep is a nod to both fashion and an iconic southern dessert.
This year's special Mint Julep recipe pays tribute to pecan pie, featuring a trifecta of fresh, original ingredients and garnishes.
Chris Morris, Brown-Forman and Woodford Reserve's master distiller, says the drink is the Ultimate Kentucky Derby Luxury served exclusively at Churchill Downs on Derby Day in a cup specially designed by acclaimed designers at Hamilton Shirts. Proceeds from the cup sales will benefit the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund.
