Showdown over Indiana's new abortion law heading to court in June

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The showdown over Indiana's new abortion law is heading to court next month.

The American Civil Liberties Union and Planned Parenthood sued the state after Governor Mike Pence banned abortions due to genetic abnormalities.

He also mandates the fetuses be buried or cremated.

Planned Parenthood says the law is unconstitutional. It wants the judge to grant an injunction before it goes into effect July 1.

A federal judge will hear arguments June 14.
