SLIDESHOW: Norton Elementary students create their own floats for Kindergarten Derby Parade

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Before the Pegasus Parade, Norton Elementary held its Kindergarten Derby Parade.

It's a day Norton Elementary School students waited for all week. Kindergarteners worked on their Derby floats, hats, and scooters. Because of the rain, this year's parade had to be moved indoors.

Chandler Judy's hot air balloon float was a hit with everyone. His family says they spent about 20 hours putting it together. They used a 3D printer to make connectors for the PVC piping.

This kindergarten parade is an annual tradition at the school, along with boat races and hat making.
