LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It's the 28th year for the Barnstable Brown Derby Eve gala, counted by Conde Nast as one of the "Ten Best Parties in the World." And this year won't disappoint
Singer Kid Rock returns and Grammy winning group Alabama Shakes is sure to take the stage. Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Kate Upton and Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers will be back. Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn, Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly and a long list of U of L and UK basketball stars are also set to walk the red carpet. The party hosted by the Barnstable Brown twins in the Highlands raises money for diabetes research.
It's a new name and a new look for the Hermitage Grand Gala. Steve Wilson and Laura Lee Brown will host this year at their downtown Louisville hotel, 21C. And it's backed by some big names - now being called the Hermitage Derby Toast presented by Vanity Fair and Longines. If you don't already have an invite, you're out of luck. It's an exclusive guest list with Vanity Fair only inviting about 300 people. Celebrities already announced include Adrian Grenier from Entourage and DJ Cassidy, who's performed for the likes of Oprah and President Obama.
And the Unbridled Eve Gala celebrates it's 5th annual event with a star-studded party at the Galt House including performances from singers Robin Thicke and Wynonna Judd. Guests will mingle with celebs including rapper 50 Cent, actress Ashley Green from the Twilight movies and Oscar winner Mira Sorvino. And it's more than a party - the money raised goes to Blessings in a Backpack to help fight childhood hunger and several other causes.
