LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say officers responded to the scene of a fatal shooting.
MetroSafe has confirmed that police responded to a shooting in the 4900 block of Creek Pointe Terrace, near Preston Highway. A call about the shooting was received Sunday morning just before 3 a.m.
Police say Angelina Pressley, 27, was found dead outside at the Cooper Creek apartment complex off Preston Highway.
Officers arrived to find Pressley, who police say had been shot to death.
Authorities say Pressley was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:06 a.m. Investigators say they believe she lived at the apartment complex.
"We made contact with as many people as we could last night," said LMPD homicide detective Lt. Todd Kessinger. "I'm sure there's people we haven't. There's probably people that we haven't talked that saw something prior to."
An autopsy was performed on Sunday showing she had died from multiple gunshot wounds to the body.
Kessinger says a key witness to the shooting was Pressley's eight-year old son.
"During an interview with the little boy, trying to build up a rapport, he told us that his favorite thing in the world was spend time with his mother," Kessinger said.
Investigators are talking to people who live in the area and are working to identify witnesses.
"We think that there's people that do have information and we think that there's people that do know stuff," Kessinger said. "It's kind of hard to believe that you can hear something like this and not call us and not come forward."
Anyone with information is asked to call 574-LMPD.
