LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Donald Trump is lashing out at a leading Evangelical after criticism over the tone of his campaign.

Earlier today, Trump blasted Russell Moore, president of the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention, in a tweet.

Trump's outburst came after weeks of criticism from Moore over his character and the way he has run his campaign.

"When you have someone who has said that he has nothing for which to seek forgiveness from God, which is the very antithesis of even the most minimal evangelical definition of what it means to be a Christian, I think that’s a problem for the gospel," Moore stated on NPR's "Weekend Edition" Saturday.

On Monday afternoon, Albert Mohler, president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, chimed in on Twitter, defending Moore.
