Infant son of slain Indiana deputy named an honorary officer

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- He's too young to talk or walk, but he's already sworn to serve and protect -- sort of.

The Massachusetts College of Art and Design Police Department appointed little Noah Koontz as an honorary officer Wednesday.

The infant boy lost his father Deputy Carol Koontz.

He was shot and killed in March 2016 while serving a warrant in Russiaville, Indiana.

The department also sent the family a letter and a patch for a quilt, writing "We will always be your extended family in blue."
