LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- 2015 was a record year for Kentucky tourism.

Kentucky's tourism secretary says the industry had a $13.7 billion economic impact on the state last year. That's up 5 percent from 2014.

The tourism industry also created more than 6,200 jobs.

Tourism generated more than $1.4 billion in tax revenue and $200 million went directly to local communities.

The tourism secretary says 2015 was the best year in the past decade.
