Bullitt County 911 service restored for landline phones after long outage

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- 911 service is back in service after being disrupted in Bullitt County on Friday afternoon because of a problem involving landline telephones, an official said.

Callers using landline, or hard-wired phones, needed to use alternate numbers in case of emergency. It did not affect cell users, said Gloria Patrie of Bullitt County Dispatch.

The problem involved Windstream, a telephone service provider in Bullitt County, said Gloria Patrie of Bullitt County Central Dispatch.

Officials say you still may experience a delay when calling, but will be connected with a dispatcher shortly after.
