LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The TSA says it has a plan to speed things up at airports.

The agency is increasing overtime, expedited hiring, using canine teams to sniff baggage and researching ways to keep the line moving.

At least three airports have sent letters to the TSA, threatening to add private security.

Some travelers are worried things could get worse during the busy summer travel season.

"There are ways, by the way, to track wait times at airports," said Jeh Johnson, Secretary of Homeland Security. "There's an app that TSA puts out called 'My TSA,' where people can, before they step onto the curb, have a good sense for what they will be facing when they get here."

The TSA says travelers can also avoid long lines by signing up for TSA pre-check.
