Louisville neighborhood holds its biggest fundraiser of the year

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – Despite some rain and the cold, the Beechmont neighborhood held its biggest fundraiser of the year on Saturday.

The annual Festival of Flowers featured food, live music, face painting, and flower pot painting. Experts were also there to answer gardening questions.

Bob Starck with the Beechmont Neighborhood Association says the event is about beautifying the neighborhood.

“The more that we as a community bond together, it keeps our neighborhood strong for safety and development,” said Starck. “The property values right now are in great shape for a lot of young couples to move into the neighborhood.”

Neighbors say they hope to turn Beechmont into the next Highlands.
