Several hundred Louisville elementary school students to receive free bike helmets

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Free bike helmets are being given to almost 500 children.

University of Louisville Hospital and Frazier Rehab Institute are giving Rangeland Elementary students free bike helmets.

The students will be fitted for helmets Thursday morning from 9 to 11 a.m.

It's part of an ongoing effort to raise awareness, prevent traumatic brain injuries and keep kids safe.

Four other local schools will also receive free bike helmets for students.
